All wooden parts on the crutch are coated with hardened water based acrylic top coat applied over a sealed surface. The topcoat is designed not to soften or break down while handling the crutch and provides a smooth surface. The hard accessories are produced from a 30% fiberglass reinforced polymer that makes it very strong.
